Celebrating Kosovo’s Independence Day with Libri Im Shqip
On Saturday, February 14th, 2026, the Albanian community gathered at the Balkan American Community Center in Troy, Michigan to celebrate Kosovo’s Independence Day alongside Valentine’s Day—an evening filled with pride, unity, love, and cultural celebration.
Held on a day that also honors love and togetherness, this meaningful celebration brought Albanian families, parents, and children together to reflect on Kosovo’s independence, our shared history, and the values that unite us as a community. Libri Im Shqip was honored to be present and to celebrate alongside the community during this special occasion.
Seeing so many Albanian families come together reminded us why Libri Im Shqip exists:

The atmosphere felt like one big family—children proudly waving flags, traditional attire on display, conversations in Albanian, and a strong sense of belonging throughout the room. These moments highlight the strength of our community and the importance of coming together to celebrate our identity and heritage.
We extend our sincere thanks to the organizers, performers, and everyone who attended and made this celebration so memorable. It was truly a privilege for Libri Im Shqip to be part of such an important night for the Albanian and Kosovar community in Michigan.
